The Fat Duck is a restaurant just outside of London run by Heston Blumenthal. Until I visited the UK I didn't even know he existed but I tell you what, I'm glad that we found it.
It was really lucky that we got a table in the restaurant because apparently they book out EVERY night. I could see why.
I loved the atmosphere in the small restaurant and also the service. It was incredible how many people were serving. There are no choices on the menu, it's a 13 course tasting menu that is available and it is weird, wacky and unusual!
When I visited the theme was like one out of Alice in Wonderland. Various dishes were themed in fun, comical ways, for example, 'Mock Turtle Soup' or 'Sounds of the Ocean'. The dishes were served with much theater including dry ice, smoke, music - a sensory delight, more than just flavour!
I've only recently learnt that this restaurant has been voted the best in the world (2005). I feel truely greatful I got a chance to eat there.
If you're interested in food and weird wonderful and spectacular food - get on the phone and get booking.
